New 2010 Bajaj Pulsar 135 Is Coming!!

Bajaj India seems to be all set to rock with New Pulsar 135, which is expected to be launched on 8th December, 2009. The teaser website is up – http://goodbyetraffic.in/ – which shows a black Pulsar wrapped under white semi-transparent cover which gives a glimpse of New Pulsar 135 . On hovering the cursor around fuel tank you can see the Bajaj Pulsar logo with smart new design air scoops which gels very well with the design of the fuel tank. On hovering at the rear end of the bike you can see it will feature split seat with nitrox suspension.

No official statement has been made about the technical details, specifications and price of New 2010 Pulsar 135. May be the engines will remain the same – it can be only a cosmetic makeover to give pulsar a fresh lease of life. Let’s wait and watch!!

TVS To Launch New Star Sport CL 115

After the huge success of recently launched Apache RTR 180 & Flame SR125, TVS India is all set to tap the market of clutchless bikes with the launch of TVS Jaive .

Though no official announcement has been about the price and launch date of Jaive but it is being speculated that TVS is going to launch it in last week of November. TVS Jaive will feature an automatic clutch and four gears. TVS has good experiance in manufacturing bikes with automatic clutch as they are selling TVS Neo in Indonesia and it is selling in good numbers.

Bajaj will launch two 125+cc motorcycles by fiscal end

A Bajaj official has said the company will introduce two motorcycles in India which will have engine capacities of over 125cc by the end of this fiscal. Apart from this addition, Bajaj is also looking at revamping one product in its existing portfolio.

Sources say this new motorcycle is codenamed Sprint with engine capacity of around 135cc. The report also says Bajaj will revamp the Pulsar and Discover line-up this year. I’m not sure what they would change, but the DTSi 2.0 series of engines could be installed on the bikes.

Another report in the media says Bajaj is planning new variants and models in the 100 cc category once Discover sales touch 80,000. Last month, Bajaj was able to sell 65,000 and the 80,000 mark is spitting distance away taking into account the purchasing mood of people in the festive season that has begun to gather steam.

TVS Motor logs 2% increase in sales in July 2009

TVS Motor reported a 2% increase in sales during July this year, at 350,000 units, as against 343,000 units during July 2008. The company’s revenue for Q1, FY 2009-10 stood at Rs 988.70 crore, a 7% increase over the Rs 925.45 crore reported in the year-ago period.

In the domestic market, TVS sold 154,000 motorcycles and 67,568 scooters during July this year, compared to 171,000 motorcycles and 65,545 scooters during July last year. Sales of the TVS King three-wheeler went up from 765 units during July 2008 to 2,223 units during July this year. The company’s exports, however, slid from 42,214 units in July 2008 to 32,067 units during July 2009.

Yamaha introduces racing kit parts to Indian customers

Yamaha has launched a range of exclusive racing kit parts by for its customers. Built by Yamaha Engineering Corporation and specialist firm, Daytona in Japan, these parts are exclusively for racing purpose in a closed circuit only.

The parts include race ECU, high lift cams, full exhaust system, special alloy sprockets, adjustable back steps and braking parts like big diameter petal disc brakes, master cylinder, and stainless steel hose. These parts will be available to customers by September this year.”

Mr. Sanjay Tripathi, Division Head Product Planning & Brand Management, India Yamaha Motor said, “Racing kit parts are developed using valuable experience gained from Moto GP & World Superbike racing and Yamaha wants to provide its customers in India with the same thrill and feeling of racing instinct. Also with the launch of these kit parts we want to encourage safe racing culture in India.

The title of Bike of the Year 2009 is up for grabs. The award ceremony is jointly conducted by Bike India and NDTV each year. The winner will be announced on 20th February and the event will be telecast for audiences across India on NDTV PROFIT.

India to Become Exports Hub for Two Wheelers

The Indian auto makers are seriously eyeing India as a potential exports hub for their automobiles. Yamaha now intends to make India as its exports hub for its two wheelers and engines. The company intends to plan its shipments to Japan and the US from India. It has already strengthened its dealer network and after sales service network in India. It further intends to have more than 600 dealerships across India by 2010.

Yamaha will invest nearly Rs .240 crores in the country by 2010-11 to develop two India-specific models. “India can be an export hub for our two legendary models – FZ16 and R15. Also we export bike engines in substantial amount to our other global operations,” India Yamaha Motor CEO and Managing Director Yukimine Tsuji. “Japan and the US has been asking for our bikes and are interested in importing from India,” he added.

Tsuji also stated that the company exported nearly 40,000 bikes and 10,000 engines from India to countries like Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Latin American countries. He further added that India is the second largest exporter for Yamaha after China. Now the company intends to cater to demands from the US and Japan.

IndusInd Bank to provide finance to TVS dealers

IndusInd Bank has tied up with TVS Motor Company for providing finance to the latter’s dealers. ‘While this tie-up will help the bank to escalate its realm of trade, it will enable TVS Motor Company to beef up its backward integration programme,’ says a press release from the two companies. ‘Our dealers will have access to ready finance from IndusInd Bank, to meet their working capital requirements,’ said H S Goindi, President – Marketing, TVS Motor Co.

The tie-up will also include other avenues of cooperation, including the provision of consumer finance for TVS two-wheelers. ‘There is an increased need for financing in this sector, and now is the time to demonstrate our support. The dealer financing model fits well with financing of the manufacturer and the consumer segment,’ says Ramesh Ganesan, Head – Transaction Banking, IndusInd Bank.
